Program Coordinator

The Program Coordinator is a leadership role and will be in charge of creating, planning, and implementing our senior activities. Personality traits that will contribute to your success in this position include being Personable, Energetic, able to pivot and adapt to changing situations quickly, and having a passion for the enjoyment of our seniors.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Assist with planning and coordination of programs and their activities.

  • Monitor implementation of program policies and practices.

  • Actively propose new ideas for programs and activities.

  • Work to keep programs on schedule, within stated budgets, and functioning smoothly.

  • Support program growth and development as necessary.

  • Coordinate program communications.

  • Manage staff work assignments, workloads, and work schedules.

  • Administer or oversee fundraising operations for programs as well as community outreach.

  • Communicate program activities to the marketing team.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be able to pass a drug screening.

  • Must be able to lift at least 50lbs.

  • Must be able to pass a background check.

  • Must have a negative TB test.

  • Must have reliable transportation.

Caregiver

Caregivers are responsible for supervising seniors, providing mobility and meal assistance, and providing health care duties.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Assist seniors during meal times

  • Assist seniors when they move around

  • Toileting

  • Engage seniors during activities

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be able to pass a drug screening.

  • Must be able to lift at least 50lbs.

  • Must be able to pass a background check.

  • Must have a negative TB test.

  • Must have reliable transportation.

 

Cook

The Cook is responsible for creating the menu for our seniors and preparing dishes to ensure healthy and tasty options.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Cooking

  • Maintaining Kitchen and Cook space

  • Ensuring a clean and sanitary workspace

Minimum Requirements

  • ServSafe Certification

  • Must be able to lift at least 50lbs.

  • Must be able to pass a background check.

  • Must have a negative TB test.

Activity Director

As an Activity Director, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating engaging activities and programs for individuals in a variety of settings.  Your main objective will be to enhance the physical, emotional, and social well-being of participants through a diverse range of recreational and leisure activities.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive activity program tailored to meet the needs and interests of our Members

  • Plan and schedule a variety of activities, including social events, games, arts and crafts, exercise programs, educational sessions, and outings.

  • Collaborate with other staff members, volunteers, and community organizations to ensure a wide range of activity options.

  • Assess participants’ abilities, interests, and preferences to create personalized activity plans.

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of participants during all activities, following appropriate guidelines and protocols.

  • Maintain activity records, attendance logs, and other necessary documentation.

  • Manage activity budgets and resources effectively

  • Promote and publicize activity programs to attract and engage participants

  • Provide support and guidance to participants, fostering a positive and inclusive environment.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and relevant regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Recreation Therapy, Teaching or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • Previous experience in planning and implementing recreational programs, preferably in a similar setting.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Creativity and a passion for enhancing individuals’ quality of life through activities.

  • Knowledge of relevant regulations, safety guidelines, and accessibility considerations.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations and manage relationships with participants, staff and community partners.

  • CPR and First Aid certification may be required (varies by employer)

 
 

Activity Aid

We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Activity Aid to join our team. As an activity Aid, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals b providing engaging and stimulating activities. You will contribute to the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of our residents/clients through the planning, implementation, and facilitation of recreational programs. Your creativity, empathy, and organizational skills will be instrumental in creating a positive and supportive environment.

Responsibilities Include

Plan, organize, and execute a variety of recreational activities suitable for individuals with diverse interests, abilities and needs.

  • Develop and implement activity plans based on individual assessments, group dynamics, and specific goals outlined by the care team.

  • Engage and interact with Members in a respectful and compassionate manner, fostering a sense of community and inclusion.

  • Encourage and support participation in activities, ensuring each individual feels valued and included.

  • Provide assistance and supervision during activities, ensuring the safety and well-being of participants at all times.

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of activities, attendance, and individual progress.

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including healthcare professionals, to address the unique needs and preferences of Members.

  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of activities, seeking feedback and making adjustments as necessary to enhance engagement and outcomes.

  • Assist with the setup, cleanup and maintenance of activity areas and equipment.

  • Stay updated on emerging trends, best practices, and innovative approaches in therapeutic recreation and apply them to enhance the program offerings

Requirements

High school diploma

  • Previous experience working with individuals in a healthcare, assisted living, or long term care setting.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with individuals of varying cognitive and physical abilities.

  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine interest in enhancing the lives of others.

  • Creativity and the ability to develop engaging activities that cater to diverse interests and abilities.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities.

  • Basic, knowledge of safety protocols and the ability to respond appropriately in emergency situations.

  • Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, or holidays as required.

 
 

Driver

As a Driver, your primary responsibility is to provide safe and reliable transportation services for elderly and disabled individuals that may require assistance while traveling. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being and independence of our Members by helping maintain their mobility and enabling them to participate in social activities, medical appointments and daily trips outside their homes.

Responsibilities Include

Transportation Services: Safely drive elderly individuals to various destinations, such as medical appointments, social events, grocery stores and other requested locations.

  • Passenger Assistance: Offer supportive assistance to passengers when entering and exiting the vehicle, ensuring their comfort and safety at all times.

  • Mobility Aid Support: Help passengers with the use of mobility aids, such as walkers, canes, or wheelchairs, ensuring they are securely fastened and appropriately accommodated during transportation.

  • Route Planning: Plan and select the most efficient and safe routes based on passengers needs, traffic conditions, and any specific instructions or preferences provided.

  • Safety and Compliance: Maintain a high standard of safety by strictly adhering to traffic laws, following proper driving techniques, and performing routine vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness.

  • Communication: Maintain clear and respectful communication with passengers, addressing their concerns and ensuring their comfort throughout their journey.

  • Time Management: Efficiently manage time to accommodate schedule and ensure on-time arrivals and departures.

  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of trips, including mileage, destinations, and any relevant passenger information, as required by the employer.

  • Emergency Preparedness: Be prepared to handle emergency situations calmly and responsibly, including knowledge of appropriate first aid procedures and emergency contacts.

  • Customer Service: Provide a friendly and compassionate atmosphere, demonstrating empathy and patience while addressing the unique needs of Members.

Qualifications

Valid Drivers License: Possess a valid drivers license with a clean driving record.

  • Experience: Previous experience as a driver, preferably working with elderly individuals or individuals with special needs.

  • Empathy and Patience: Display a compassionate and patient demeanor when interacting with elderly passengers, recognizing and accommodating their unique requirements.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with elderly individuals, their families, and other caregivers.

  • Dependability: Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and commitment to providing consistent transportation services.

  • Physical Stamina: Ability to assist passengers with mobility aids and perform any necessary lifting or bending during the course of the job.

  • Knowledge of Safety Regulations: Familiarity with traffic laws, safety regulations, and emergency procedures related to transportation services.
