About Us

Turnagain Social Club is an adult day center that provides  therapeutic activities, full care, transportation and meals, for those whom are disabled or seniors ages 55 and older.

With Alaska’s senior population growing faster than the rest of the country, Adult Day Services are needed now more than ever.   Anchorages Alzheimers numbers are also on the rise, requiring more specialized caregivers who understand the many types of dementia and their care needs.  With 2 RNs on staff, a dietician, and over 20 caregivers, we provide the critical attention your loved one needs.

Owner and President Koreen Mateaki, Registered Nurse, has 16 years of experience working with geriatric populations and running assisted living homes.

She recognized there was a need for high-quality adult day facilities and specialized services in a therapeutic environment in Anchorage. This was what led her to open the Turnagain Social Club in late 2016.

The Club is located in Turnagain, in a historic building that was formerly home to the Anchorage Unitarian Universalist Fellowship Church. Our spacious 7,200-square-foot building has been fully renovated and retrofitted to meet the needs of our members.

Our experienced staff have devoted their lives to the care of others.

Our team is trained using the Brain Change model, person-centered care, CPR/First Aid, Cognitive Optimization Program and specialty disease process training. We work to create an environment that caters to the needs and abilities of all those whom we serve. Our staff attends to our member’s needs with grace, courtesy, kindness and understanding.

If we can delay the onset of Alzheimer's by about 5 years the healthcare cost savings are tremendous. -- Kori Mateaki, Owner of Turnagain Social Club
